As an adult there's something cheesy about buying press on/stick on fake nails for yourself.…
Get ready ladies! Today, we are diving into the fun world of body odor and I am about go get personal with something you never wanted to know about me (or anyone for that matter). I have a problem – stinky pits!
Que the theatrics: Woe is me! Or is it stinky is me?!
Who wants to stand next to the smelly girl? Anyone? No one? SHOCKER! I am embarrassed to say but I have been that girl! Living in the South with crazy heat indexes is not kind on ones body. To avoid being THAT GIRL ever again – I went on a hunt to find the best deodorant for smelly armpits and this is what I found!
Let’s just dive in to the of so fun topic of body odor with my main issue – smelly armpits even with deodorant…
Really, it could be worse for me. I could have to deal with sweaty and stinky pits, if you have both as we like to say in the south – bless your heart! You’re probably grumbling over there saying that I lucked out with the odor only problem.
I have pretty much tried every single deodorant that is available on store shelves and when those still left me with smelly armpits I kind of just gave up and dealt with it. My water bill was not my friend!
When I started having kids, the smell got worse (thank you hormones!) AND I became more concerned with what was actually in the products I was using, especially deodorants that where so close to my babies face while nursing.

Confession time – for a bit I lived Au natural I couldn’t find a natural deodorant I felt was safe for breastfeeding in the stores and did not have time to research with a newborn at home.
I didn’t want chemicals on my child and so we both suffered with mother natures gift of body odor. Let’s just say me and the “hoe bath” became BFFs during this time. After all I was still dealing with smelly armpits even with deodorant on so I just said screw it.
When I got tired of taking multiple showers a day, and smelling like a garbage can (thank you post pregnancy hot flashes) I took to the internet to find the best deodorant for smelly armpits, but it had to be natural and chemical free AND it needed to actually work.
I’d tried several natural deodorants in the past and while they may work great as an antiperspirant they did not work at keeping body odor under control.
Best Deodorants For Smelly Armpits Breakdown
These will leave your pits smelling like warm sunshine on a spring afternoon!
Crystal mineral deodorant is my #1 pick for a couple of reasons. It’s AFFORDABLE and it works. I tried their unscented roll-on and it kept my pits smelling fresh for 24 hours and it was under $4!!! The con for me is it takes forever to dry – like you have to do the chicken dance and flap your arms for a good 3-5 minutes before you can put your shirt on. They do have a deodorant stick that I have not tried.
Native is another natural deodorant option for smelly armpits. It keeps the body odor at bay – but it is on the pricey side. It’s aluminum free, does not contain parabens, phthalates, or talc. It doesn’t stain clothes, and it’s cruelty free no animal testing! It is also said to be a good antiperspirant, keeping your armpits dry all day. I can not attest to this as I do not have that issue but one of my girlfriends SWEARS by Native and will not use anything else!
Lume is the “new kid” on the market launching in 2018 and you can use it anywhere…. armpits, feet, private parts – if it stinks you can rub it on the area and odor will disappear. That being said I did not test it on any unusual areas and do not plan to. It’s water-based, has no artificial fragrances, and is aluminum and baking soda free. It is also VERY expensive – in my opinion. I would also think you would want to buy multiple deodorant sticks if you are planning on using it on your neither regions.
And thus completes my list of the best deodorant for smelly armpits! I will be updating over time as I try more brands out but let’s be honest how many deodorants does one girl need at a time!
