Honest Multi-Surface Cleaner, Coastal Surf0.00
- No strong chemical smells is gentler on the eyes
- Way more gentle on skin, no dry feeling afterward, gloves not necessarily needed
- Cleans all surfaces completely
- No strong chemical smell, but Coastal Surf kind of stinks
- Spray top has some resistance which can make hand cramp up if using on large surfaces

As parents, a large percentage of our hectic lives consist of cleaning.
Whether it’s getting food off your counters or dirt rings out your bathtubs. I can bet your cleaning stash, like most of us, is probably full of harsh chemicals that you have probably deemed best for getting rid of all the germs and stains in your home.
Nowadays, though, a lot of families are making the choice to switch over to more natural and organic options for their daily household cleaning.
I’ve seen this change and I will admit that I was at first very skeptical about it because I had grown to love my go-to cleaning products. How else would I know if my house is clean if my eyes didn’t burn from the overpowering bleach smell topped off by a strong candle?

So when I came across The Honest Company’s Multi-Surface Cleaner I was actually surprised at how well it did. I’ve been using it consistently in my kitchen and bathroom for about a month now and I think it’s a godsend. I bought a 25 oz. bottle at my local Target for around $4.00.
I think this is a good deal considering how expensive “organic” products are. The scent I chose was Coastal Surf. This cleaner also comes in the scents Free & Clear, Lavender Field, and Grapefruit Grove.
Also, not that it really matters, but the packaging is really nice and the bottle is good quality. I will probably use it for something else when it runs out.
When I clean with any other brand, I typically spray all the surfaces and let the cleaner sit for a minute or two before I wipe it off. I wanted to get a true comparison of The Honest Company compared to my other daily cleaners such as Lysol or 409, so I did the same thing with this cleaner.
When I initially started cleaning, I thought I would have to put a little more elbow grease into scrubbing in order to get the stains and dried food off my counters. Because, again, I have been conditioned to believe that only strong chemicals can get my surfaces truly clean. However, that was not the case at all, every stain wiped off easily.
It is also a true multi-surface cleaner as well. This spray got all stains and grime out of my son’s bathtub just as easily as it got the spaghetti stains off my kitchen counters.
When cleaning my son’s high chair I typically use some sort of disinfectant spray or wipe and then go back over it with a clean paper towel to remove some of the access chemical reside since most of his food is eaten directly off the tray. Not anymore.
Any product you buy from The Honest company comes with its’ ‘Honestly Free Guarantee’ which states that their products are “made without SLS/SLES, Dyes, Ammonia, Synthetic Fragrances, Chlorine Bleach, Methylisothiazolinone”. Basically, no bad chemicals, all plant-derived ingredients.
The only downside I found was the smell.
As I stated earlier, I chose Coastal Surf. It definitely lives up to its name. I would describe it as having a saltwater smell. I wouldn’t describe the smell it as bad, but it is not the most appealing. It’s not strong though and can easily be masked by a candle or incense after cleaning which I chose to do.
I am sold on the product because of how well it works so I will try the other scents because they are probably more appealing.
Overall, I give The Honest Company’s Multi-Surface Cleaner an 4.25 out of 5. It works just as good as any other cleaning product I have in my home and is a much safer option for myself and my family. Which, as a mom is very important to me.
Give it a try and maybe you too will make the switch to a more healthy cleaning choice.
